Views on Marriage

Marriage during the Western Civilization period was completely different then it is today. Back in the day women did not get any respect. Marriage would never be the same today because people are able to stand up for themselves today. Back then women would suffer the consequences if they were to try to stand up for themselves. In todays world marriage is more about loving and caring for one another. In Western Civilizations marriage was forced upon people even if they had no love for each other. Divorce is another issue that has changed over the years. In todays world divorce is considered to be acceptable at times. People believe it is acceptable if it is healthier for the children. I feel like there is no possible way that anyone could have the same traditions involving marriage as they did during the Western Civilization period.
